Evansville Goodwill Industries, Inc. was established in 1935 in a factory in the heart of Evansville's downtown. There were only about 10 employees, including a plant manager, secretary, and plant workers! The idea was to provide jobs for people with disabilities by receiving and repairing goods for resale in the Goodwill Store. |

Over the years, Goodwill has offered a variety of job training programs including car detailing, car repair, and food service. Each idea aimed at further increasing opportunities for people with disabilities. |
In 1972, Goodwill opened a branch office in Vincennes, IN, allowing Goodwill to provide services to a larger population. The stage was set for Goodwill's next move: into a new, 70,000 square-foot facility in 1984. |
