Did you know that Evansville Goodwill Industries, Inc. is one of Evansville's oldest recycling facilities? We've been accepting donations of "gently used" items since 1935 and using them to create jobs and training opportunities for people in the tri-state area. Just think, all that stuff you no longer use that's lying in your basement, filling up your closets, and taking up space in your garage can be donated to Goodwill and used to improve the lives of others.

Bring your "gently used" items to one of our mobile or on-site donation centers. Donating to Goodwill is faster than the drive-through at your favorite fast food restaurant! The donation attendant will unload your donations quickly and provide you with a tax receipt.

At the donation center, you are getting your first glimpse of how your donations create jobs. Once inside, your donations are sorted and distributed. Goodwill makes every effort to recycle all the donations it receives, whether by reselling items in our 15 retail outlets or on shopgoodwill.com (our web-based auction site), recycling worn-out clothing by turning the items into industrial wipes, or shipping goods to people in need.  We take your trust seriously and you can be assured that we make the most of every item!

VALUING YOUR DONATED GOODS
Evansville Goodwill Industries, Inc. is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization and our donors are often entitled to claim a charitable deduction for their donations. Some acceptable ways of valuing your donation include determining the item’s estimated resale value, its replacement cost, or its value through a qualified appraisal. Consideration should be given to the age, condition, quality, style and use of the donated articles. IRS Publications 526 and 561 and Form 8283 can help you determine the value of your donation.

Goodwill provides all donors with donation receipts at the time of the donation but does not keep copies of receipts. Please safeguard your receipt, as this is the only copy available.

WHAT IF I JUST WANT TO MAKE A CASH DONATION?
There are several options for making a contribution to Evansville Goodwill Industries, Inc. Gifts to Goodwill, in care of the Evansville Goodwill Industries Foundation, Inc., will be used to address long-term solutions to benefit our programs as they grow and expand. Unless otherwise designated, gifts to Evansville Goodwill Industries, Inc. are used for the general operating expenses for the agency.
